HCO Training providers

Good morning,

The Department of Parliamentary Services is interested in which provider other Commonwealth agencies use for their Harassment Contact Officer (or equivalent) training. If any information could please be sent to ellen.patat-tanevska@aph.gov.au it would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Ellen Patat-Tanevska

I acknowledge the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people, who are the traditional custodians of the land on which Australian Parliament House is situated – an area where people have met for thousands of years.

The National Library of Australia has recently (past year) changed HCO training provider to that of iHR – their harassment contact officer training. We have used the half day virtual training as we struggled to get any face to face in Canberra. The feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive. One of our very experienced and practical union delegates attended the training and said that it was one of the best training they had attended and they felt that it would even be useful for their union delegates.

Feedback is that whilst the half day training is tight, the content is contemporary and very good, with the training so well delivered that a half day works.

Our previous training provider, although popular had content that was very old and dense and simply went for too long.

Based on the feedback from our HCO – I would highly recommend the iHR harassment contact officer training.
