Assistant Director, HR Services and Reporting – NAA

In the role of Assistant Director, HR Services and Reporting, you will be part of a collaborative and welcoming EL team in Corporate Services. You will oversee the delivery of the HR Service Desk, recruitment advisory, onboarding and probation, workforce and ad hoc reporting, and payroll (outsourced).

In the short-term, in this role you would project manage our transition to Power BI for workforce reporting that better enables our managers and executive to make people-related decisions, oversee the implementation of inclusive recruitment practices to attract underrepresented groups to the National Archives, and monitor employee survey responses to continuously improve HR services.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can lead a small team across a range of HR functions with limited direction
  • Is an excellent people manager who can build capability and corporate knowledge in their team, and foster an inclusive, collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Is curious and committed to finding solutions to improve candidate and employee experience
  • Is confident interpreting and applying enterprise agreements and workplace policy.


This role is available initially for 6 months. Remuneration is negotiable.
