building an agency intranet

The Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority are a tiny (around 70) person agency, established in 2017.

We are part-way into building our first agency intranet and have hit a couple of sticking points. We’re really interested in talking to other small agencies to learn how they have set up their intranets, with particular interest in hosting solutions, including implementing single sign-on and managing security requirements in a small agency context (limited resources).

Thanks, Helen

studies assistance programme/policy

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is undergoing a review of our Studies Assistance Programme/Policy and would appreciate other departments sharing their own programme’s/policies.

We are particularly keen on knowing the following:

  • Amount of paid (and unpaid) study leave that can be/is approved
  • Financial reimbursement amount
  • Any special considerations given under the programme/policy – such as for persons with a disability, first nations persons and so on.

We are more than happy to share the outcome of our review of these policies with those agencies that ask, but any assistance would be appreciated.

Please contact us at DPS.LD@aph.gov.au

compliance training policy

Hi everyone,

I have written IBA’s Compliance Training Policy and was hoping to get an idea of other agencies policies to see if our layout is similar, identify any gaps we may have/ what we may be beneficial to add, as well as how you conduct training.

At the moment IBA deliver all compliance training via 30 minute online modules through a Learning Management System, however would it be more engaging or a better way to train by having workshops/a compliance day?

Look forward to your responses.

Thanks,

reskilling program for women returning to work

The Clean Energy Regulator is seeking information from any agencies who may have established any Re-skilling program for women returning to work?  ( this could be return from Mat leave or long term leave )

service provider for training on handling confidential information

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission are looking for a service provider who can provide training on handling confidential information (esp. in a regulatory setting).

The training we are seeking is at a general level and should provide attendees with an understanding of what confidential information is, how to identify and deal with it, and what to look out for to avoid inadvertent disclosure.

In terms of format, we’re looking for a provider who can provide face-to-face or virtual training sessions and potentially create an online course that staff can complete at regular intervals as a refresher. We’re also seeking the option to develop area or function specific modules.

If you know anyone that could fit the bill, it would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know. Thanks!
